Manav Seva Sanstha previously known as “Jiyamukti Manavseva Sanstha” is a grassroots non-governmental Nation Building organization (NBO) founded in 1999 at Latur district in the state of Maharastra by service minded and dedicated young social activists who were actively engaged in the Killari earthquake rehabilitation program and joined together to form this organization for the Transformation, empowerment, overall development of the disadvantaged section of the society on the values of peace, justice and equity. It is the most comprehensive intervention of a Manavseva Sanstha in terms of planned strategy and problem solving. The focus of the program has changed over the years in response to local, regional and national realities. In its current form, In its current form, it is designed to mainstream development, access rights through group and community mobilization, It specifically targets vulnerable Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Castes, Single Women, Persons with Disabilities, Small and Marginal Farmers, Landless Agricultural labourers and Migrant Labourers. Manavseva Sanstha is implemented in Maharashtra and is functioning in 106 villages, 12 blocks and 4 districts of the state.

Empowering Lives: The Impact of Manav Seva Sanstha
In a small village nestled in rural India, hope was scarce, and opportunities were few. Families struggled to break free from the cycles of poverty, illiteracy, and despair. That is until Manav Seva Sanstha stepped in to make a difference.
For over two decades, Manav Seva Sanstha has worked tirelessly to transform communities, one life at a time. With a vision of creating a society rooted in dignity, equality, and opportunity, the organization has launched a range of initiatives that have left a lasting impact on thousands of individuals.
Reviving Education
Take the story of 14-year-old Ritu, a bright and determined young girl who once dreamed of becoming a teacher. But her dreams were dimmed by the harsh realities of life—her family could barely afford two meals a day, let alone school fees. When Manav Seva Sanstha introduced its Girls’ Education Program in her village, Ritu’s life changed forever. The organization not only provided her with scholarships and school supplies but also counseled her family on the importance of education. Today, Ritu is not only excelling academically but has also become a role model for other girls in her village.
Healthcare for All
In another corner of the region, Mohan, a daily wage laborer, had been silently battling untreated diabetes for years. Lack of awareness and unaffordable healthcare services left him vulnerable. Through the Community Health Initiative, Manav Seva Sanstha organized free health camps and screenings in Mohan’s village. The early diagnosis and consistent treatment provided by the initiative saved his life. Today, Mohan is back to work, healthier and more aware of his health needs, and is spreading awareness in his community.
Empowering Women Through Livelihoods
Shanti, a widow and mother of three, had no source of income and no hope for a better future. That changed when she joined the Women’s Skill Development Program by Manav Seva Sanstha. She learned tailoring and was provided with a sewing machine. Within months, Shanti began earning enough to support her family. Her transformation inspired other women in her village to join the program, creating a ripple effect of empowerment.

From clean drinking water projects to vocational training for youth, Manav Seva Sanstha has been the beacon of light for countless communities. The organization has directly impacted over 50,000 lives through its various initiatives, and its holistic approach ensures that no one is left behind.
